For testing I also use AVX multi-core load. the processor tells me which base curve it has and what it likes and what it doesn't like. My solution is simpler, faster and more accurate.

I know that there are some scripts that help find the CO. Simply enter these CO coefficients in the BIOS. If for some reason you can not use CTR HYBRID OC - you have an alternative.

  • During the OB diagnostics information about CO (Curve Optimizer) coefficients is presented to the user.
  • The OB values will be set for each profile + saved automatically.
  • Updated more accurate OB diagnostics, you don't have to adjust anything.
  • Other minor fixes and stability improvements.

Improved performance in some games and applications. It is recommended to use only to find compatibility problems in the system. The debug information will only be available if the "NOTIFICATION" option is enabled.

    #RYZEN CTR 2.1 UPDATE#

  • Auto update does not want to work (fixed).
  • Changed presentation of CO (Curve Optimizer) information (each value has either a minus sign or none).
  • Since this application does not use CPPC I cannot guarantee its stability.
  • Adjusting CO (Curve Optimizer) calculation for Ryzen 9 5950X.
  • Profiles should not react to Windows thread manager stuttering.
  • The profile holding settings have been changed.
  • If you encounter instability you can decrease the OB for PX HIGH (rarely for PX MID) by 18, try increasing the voltage for PX HIGH (1375 -> 1400, for example) or increase the CPU LLC level. User intervention in the OB settings for PX HIGH is welcome to achieve better performance or stability.
  • Improved prevention of frequency peaks in light load (overboost, which leads to crashing).
  • Frequency fluctuations during dynamic profile operation are significantly reduced (updated rules for dynamic profiles).
  • This update requires new diagnostics (for Zen 3 owners)!

Tl dr: Upgraded GPU, mobo's BIOS reset, CTR won't work anymore even with the same config as before and after multiple re-installs. I know some people don't like CTR and always suggest undervolting via PBO2 and CO, instead, but I could never get the same temps as with CTR, even with a -15 CO offset across all cores (the max my CPU/mobo will support). When trying to "tune", all stress tests, for every CCX, fail ("overclocking failure detected, thread fall down"). Tried uninstalling CTR and even using the separate "config cleaner" app before installing it again and running diagnostics/tuner, but nothing works anymore.Įven the diagnostic doesn't seem to fully complete (it automatically starts and finishes the Cinebench run, but no diagnostics are presented at the end). I configured it again, by simply enabling the XMP profile and leaving all OC settings at auto (just like before), but noticed high temps on the CPU, and that CTR's profiles weren't being applied anymore.

Recently, I upgraded from a 3090 GPU to a 4090, and while the PC was plugged off, I guess the mobo's CMOS reset and the BIOS lost its settings. I only use my PC for light work (text editor/spreadsheets) and gaming (4K resolution). It's served me well for my primary goal of reducing temps, especially idling. I've been using CTR for a long time - first with a 3900X then, with my current 5900X, on an X570 Aorus Master (Rev.
